Alistair P. McCrann, ATC - Medical Student. Certified Athletic Trainer, and PTS Coach, 2000 Clydesdale World Champion, 2000 NE Regional Triathlon Clydesdale Champion, 2-time Ironman Finisher, and Ultramarathon Runner |
Alistair's life has been a rollercoaster ride of school and competitive sports for most of the last decade. He began his dip in the world of triathlon in 1997 and was hooked, earning both Regional and World Championship titles in 2000. Recently Alistair earned his B.S. in Athletic Training from New Mexico State University and is now an NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. (check out http://www.nata.org for more info) Answering the call of his entrepreneurial brother Patrick, Al joined the PTS Team from the beginnings in 2003. Alistair has been coaching endurance athletes since 2001, and has a more independent approach to coaching. His athletes have all excelled in their respective sports and continue to improve each year. The main focus of Alistair's coaching style is the life-long commitment to improving an athlete's health and performance. In addition to coaching, Alistair also provides injury consultations and assistance via email and phone to all endurance athletes for a nominal fee. (PTS Athletes receive a substantial discount)
Personal Life: Currently Alistair is pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University Medical Campus in NYC, and continues to coach several athletes and compete when he can.
Professional Life: Alistair is a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and a very busy student. (I consider studying as a full-time professional commitment)
