Coach: Eric Kenney

  1. Town, State: Cambridge, MA

  2. Training Focus: Training focus was run dominated this year. I had always been pretty strong on the bike, and used 2004 as my swim focus.

  3. Your "A Race" for 2005: Montauk Half Ironman in October.

  4. #1 goal: To finish the darn thing. #2 goal was to break 5 hours.

  5. Athletic Accomplishment You Are Most Proud Of: Finishing the race, even though my goggles snapped right before the gun, and I had to run back to transition to get a spare pair. Having a spare pair. And though I missed my start, and had to swim solo with no draft for the swim, I still had a solid race and finished strong.

  6. Favorite Snack/Food: French fries! Nature's perfect grub. Carbs, Fat and Salt. I'm seriously considering keeping those dried fried potato stick things in T2 for my next race. If I'm on a long bike ride I'll just walk into a general store at hour 4 and laugh at myself as my body is drawn towards whatever I'm lacking. Sometimes it's salt, if I didn't have enough gatorade on the ride. Sometimes it's sugar, like devil-dogs, if I didn't have enough calories. And after a long ride....it's all about the Chinese Food.

  7. I'd rather be: ...Not working and paying bills, so that I can focus more on training. I've always tried to balance career with athletics. It's impossible for me to give up athletics...so I'll just have to give up on work some day!
