Client: Amy Fair
Coach: Matt Giunta

  1. Town/State: Townsend, Massachusetts

  2. Training Focus: Half Ironman and trying to get faster at running.

  3. A Race: Timberman Half Ironman in August. I really enjoy the sprint triathlon that Timberman offers so I thought I would try the Half. Many of my TriFury teammates will be there competing and havin' fun right alongside me.  It's the perfect venue for me being a newbie to the 70.3 world.

  4. #1 Goal: My # 1 goal is to someday finish a marathon.  Twice now I have signed up for marathons but switched to the half marathons due to not being in the shape that I want to be in.  I would like to finish without the race directors following me, picking up the cones and saying through their bullhorn "Miss Fair, we're closing the course. Do you think you could speed it up?"

  5. Athletic Accomplishment Most Proud Of: My first half marathon in 2004.  My sister and father had been running the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon for a couple of years in Colorado and I was usually the chauffeur.  I really wanted to be a part of this race. So I stopped smoking and found a program online to help me get into shape.  The program literally had me jogging for one minute and walking for three minutes, so on and so forth. My sis and Dad stuck with me the entire time, fartleking for most of the last 5 miles.  It was the best feeling ever to cross the finish line with our "Team Fair" t-shirts on and seeing my mom at the end.

  6. Favorite snack: Anything salty.  Peanuts, chips, cashews, sunflower seeds in the shell (I can plow through a bag in a day if I work at it.  It's horrible!)

  7. I'd rather be: sleeping.  Who doesn't like a good nap on a Sunday afternoon?
