Client: Sarah Afshar
Coach: Patrick McCrann
- Town, State: Fairfax, Virginia
- Training Focus: Having begun competitive running at age twelve, my ultimate purpose is life-time health and fitness; however triathlon is my current training focus.
- Your "A Race" for 2006: Ironman Wisconsin, September 10, 2006
- #1 goal: I would love to go sub-12 hours on race day, but as a wife and a career-driven woman, the key for me is to achieve life-balance throughout my Ironman train-up. As with all my races, I will finish with a big cheesy grin on my face. :)
- Athletic Accomplishment You Are Most Proud Of: I was very happy to complete my first Ironman at Coeur d'Alene last year in 12:20; but even more fulfilling is the realization that my athletic achievements have inspired others. That some of my best friends have started running half-marathons, and now marathons is more rewarding than even my own achievements.
- Favorite Snack/Food: I have a passion for all kinds of food, but any food that my husband and I cook and eat together is most satisfying.
- I'd rather be: As I am taking some time before my work day to write this, I look forward to eight hours of keyboard-clacking and mouse-clicking, trapped by the glow of my computer monitor in an all beige office under the nauseating glare of fluorescent lights. Where would I rather be? At this moment: back in Oahu, my home from 2001 - 2006, swimming in the open ocean with the fish and the turtles.
