In this section, our fourth profiled client
of the month, Phillip Cooper, answers our Seven Super Questions!
Congrats Phillip and keep up the good work! Philip is coached by Patrick McCrann
- Town, State: Rochester,
NY
- Training Focus: Full marathon ? the thought
of an IM has started to creep into my mind recently ? but I think
that my body doing the talking.
- Your "A Race" for 2005: The Toronto
Marathon. Having set a PR in Toronto of 3:25 after just completing
the Twin Cities Marathon 2 weeks beforehand.
- #1 goal: Since I just can't seem to have just
one, here's two: Qualifying for Boston is still eluding me -
so that's my #1 goal - but that should be accomplished in January
at the Disney Marathon - my ultimate fitness goal is to run a
sub-3 hour marathon.
- Athletic Accomplishment You Are Most Proud Of: That
I'm running at all. Having weighed over 300 lbs. 2 1/2 years
ago - running a marathon is not exactly something I thought of
doing - let alone becoming addicted to. One year ago I signed
up for my first marathon in Columbus, OH, hoping to get that
nonsense out of my system, but that lead to running #2, 3 and
4 all in one year. Looking back, insanity may be my only defense.
- Favorite Snack/Food: Training: Dried fruit,
yogurt and bananas. Post race reward: Any kind of chocolate decadence
that's at least 3 layers deep, impossible to eat in one sitting
- and yes, with full-fat ice cream.
- I'd rather be: Living in Park City, UT training
full time - but this thing called "work" (i.e. the
need for a paycheck) keeps getting in the way of that plan.
