In this new section, our second profiled client
of the month, Tania Larkin, answers our
Seven Super Questions! Congrats Tania and keep up the good work! Tania is coached by Maura Mulligan.
- Town, State: I was born in Montreal. When I was a little girl, my parents were craving endless days of sunshine so we moved to Tucson, AZ. I spent most of my life in Tucson, with many summers spent in Montreal, & a few years in Scottsdale. In 2000, I moved to Red Sox Nation.
- Training Focus: I love training! And if I had to chose, I love training for triathlons more than marathons because of the diversity in tri-training versus marathon training.
- Your "A Race" for 2005: Ironman USA, July 24, 2005
- #1 goal is Simply this, to finish & enjoy it along the way!
- Athletic Accomplishment You Are Most
Proud Of: When I was learning to ride my bike with my "clips" (or whatever those shoes are called), I was falling down a lot. ...And crying a lot. But I'm really proud that I got back up most times & kept trying. Also, my first marathon, my first triathlon, & my first 1/2 Ironman will always be special to me. I don't really consider myself an athlete, and I often feel like I'm crashing the party at events like these - feeling like I'm not really athletic enough to be at those starting lines. So, I was really proud at the end of those days because, just like the other people at the start of those races, I was able to finish, too! In general, I'm proud that I stick with my training, I'm proud that I try to improve, and I'm proud that I work hard along the way. And hopefully, by the early hours on July 25 of this year, I'll have something new to add to my list of athletic accomplishments of which I'm proud! :)
- Favorite Snack/Food: Cake - especially cupcakes! They taste sooo yummy, & usually served in celebration of something, cakes & cupcakes are simply a "happy" food. Gotta love the "happy" foods!
- I'd rather be....hanging out on a beach with people I love.
