In this section, our third profiled
client of the month, Devlin Rambo, answers our
Seven Super Questions! Congrats Devlin and keep up the good work! Devlin is coached by Patrick McCrann.
- Town, State: San Diego since
1997 before that Kahala HI.
- Training Focus: That's a
tough one, as there are so many aspects you have to train for
in adventure racing. I would say the main three are running,
biking and kayaking, although hiking, orienteering, caving, white
water swimming/rafting, etc are valid events. In the past
we would train navigating by having our race partners bushwhack
over all types of terrain, then hand over the maps and make us
navigate to a certain point.
- Your "A Race" for 2005: ExploreCA
Santa Ana 24 hour
- #1 goal My main goal is to
compete in EcoChallenge or Primal Quest (Eco Challenge is currently
in hiatus since Mark Burnett is to busy with
reality T.V. to set up the race)
- Athletic Accomplishment You Are Most
Proud Of: Wow this is a very tough one, as I am sure
all of us have made accomplishments along the way we are proud
of. Mainly I would say sticking it out in AR for as long
as I have. Some races are downright a mental nightmare,
while some are more physical. So to answer the question,
Learning how to overcome mentally and physically hardships
that can occur while racing and staying positive knowing your
body will bounce back. Basically never quitting! Also
having the pros start to recognize me is kinda nice :)
- Favorite Snack/Food: Give me Gummi Bears any
day :)
- I'd rather be...So many things but mainly
traveling the world, exploring new areas and okay meeting awesome
people. Learning
more about myself and the people closest in my life. Also
since I know everyone is from Patriot Country, watching the
Steelers win the Superbowl this year
